Adventist University Virgin Islands Relief

Adventist University Virgin Islands Relief

Join Florida Hospital and Adventist University students in providing relief and support for the US Virgin Island citizens with food, supplies, shelter, and educational opportunities during their period of rebuilding.

The US Virgin Islands (USVI) were devastated by Irma and Maria, two catastrophic hurricanes over a two week period. Medical personnel from Florida Hospital and ADU’s Master of Healthcare Administration program visited the USVI to help with immediate medical relief efforts and assess long-term healthcare needs.

Now ADU students want to help the Lockhart Elementary School return to full operational condition and the over 200 individuals who sheltered there. Cleaning supplies, food items as well as clothing and shoes for children are critical current needs.

FH and ADU students are collaborating with the clinical leaders of the Schneider Regional Medical Center (the only hospital serving the Islands) to develop a curriculum that will assist in enhancing their medical-surgical nurses professional development with critical care knowledge and coaching; “growing their own” while enabling them to utilize their skills in their ED and ICU.

Please join us as we offer tangible and long-lasting support to those whose lives have been upended. Give a gift to help mobilize another team, build infrastructure and collect and deliver supplies to help citizens recover.
